I'm not having much luck with headphones lately. If had brilliant AKG brand over the ear pair free with a Samsung phone about 6 years ago. I lent it to my son on holiday and somehow it got lost in a van on the motorway.

I've lost one earbud so got rid of the other only for the missing one to turn up on the driveway. Also lent to son.

Then some hook sport ones son's taken over. Another pair of jlab earbuds only work with one at a time. I can get both working on their own but not together.

So I want something decent but not too expensive just for me and nobody else gets to touch them. Any type from over ear, earbuds. Hook sports ear buds, open ear, bone conduction. I don't care. Cheap enough is better.. Can you get a good pair for £50? Or what do I need to spend?

I'm open to as many suggestions as you have.

Oh it's for music but I'm thinking of getting into audio books to so I'm not talking about it needing to be top quality sound just decent enough.

Ijust can’t get earbuds to stay put, no matter which brand. Not a fan of over-ear style for walking about. I bought some of the Shokz bone conduction ones, and find them ridiculously good functionally. The sound quality for music is fine, not as good as the other styles perhaps but more than acceptable. For phone use, they are fantastic, clear mic and reception.

Most importantly they absolutely stay put on my head, and are very comfortable.

Battery life is decent - I get 8 hours music use no problem. And these will pair with multiple devices automatically so I can use with phone and tablet without having to manually select.

I bought the Open Pro 2 model which is the top end of their range, maybe over budget but definitely worth trying their stuff.

Anker Q20i. They are on Amazon sale for £31 quid now. The battery life is amazing, and they sound really good. Also they are noise cancelling which you can turn on or off.

I've had loads of budget headphones in my life, these are by far the best. I'm comparing them to Xbox ones my partner uses (120 odd quid) and some 200 quid Sony that I tried. For my ears the Anker ones are just as good

Anker. I have soundcore Q30 over ear, Life P3 ear buds and P3i ear buds. No complaints with either. They are more than adequate for my 77 year old ears / hearing. Bought both off Amazon. Can’t remember exact prices, about £45 for over ears, and £25 for buds.

I've been using Jabra Revo headphones for almost 10 years, sound quality is excellent. Jabra 65 elite earbuds (6 years old) get most daily use, phone calls, music, teams meetings etc & still hold good charge. I also have a pair of Anker p30i earbuds, not quite the sound & noise cancelling quality of the Jabra buds, but still very good.

I'll second the Q30's, very good VFM, no complaints at all about the sound quality, which can be improved further by profiling the equalisation using various apps, I use Wavelet. The noise cancellation is pretty decent as well. I bought mine as 'refurbished' for under £40 from Amazon but as far as I could make out they were brand new.

I got jlab sport hook ones and they were great but the boy has nicked them. Asda ear buds were good until one was lost the other with box thrown then the missing one found.

Then I got jlab go ear buds and they were great until the pairing got iffy. I can get left one paired or the right bit not both at the same time now.

My bestb were AKG branded over ear. Best sound quality I've ever heard. £200++ but i got it for free with the Samsung phone I bought for cash. I could have got the phone with or without from the same place so I got the option with a claim back for it.. They turned up about a month after claimed.

Years ago I got aftershokz titanium, before the rebrand and new products. They were mediocre quality sound but you bought for the open ear part of their spec.

Since then I've tried tester ones on a sports store and the newer shokz are a lot better than they used to be.

Anker ones do look good, I nearly bought one for my son once.

I've had both wired and wireless buds in the past. They were very good sound wise but I got very annoyed with them falling out. Eventually tried foam buds that didn't come with them, they stayed in but never felt comfortable. I always go with over ears now

I'm a convert to bone induction headphones like a few others above. I just bought a cheap pair from Amazon (😲) actually to see if I could get on with them, fully intending to return them and but a better pair. I'm still using the originals as the quality is perfectly acceptable.

The bonus is, I can wear them to listen to music/podcast when out on the bike and still hear what's going on around me. Win ... win

Do you mind me asking which ones you got please?

I'm looking at Amazon cheap ones after being a bit disappointed with Aftershox service when I had a faulty pair.
