I want to find a new commuting jersey, preferably one for the warmer months, but have been having trouble finding one suitable. I've looked on Chain Reaction Cycles, Wiggle and Evans Cycles online, but haven't found anything I like yet. My requirements are
  • good quality make and built to last a long time, i.e. no loose stitching, fading colours or bad zips;
  • needs 3 rear pockets;
  • needs 1 zip pocket over the centre rear pocket, with the zip at the top (not the side);
  • short sleeved;
  • full-length front zip;
  • no prominent team logos.
Can any of you suggest anything?

[edit] Just added "full-length front zip" to the list.

I've got a specialized jersey that is like that, it's a ladies one, but you might find a men's one too. As much as I don't like their bikes, their clothing is good, especially when reduced in price

It's this one FYI, UV protection too

What jerseys have you tried so far ?
I'm currently using a DeMarchi Contour Plus for commuting, and it's quite good, although the fabric seems to be slightly prone to having threads sticking out (not sure what the term is for that). I couldn't find any jerseys of that particular model on the 3 sites I mentioned, though.

Thanks for that. I found this one promising: http://www.sigmasport.co.uk/item/Specialized/SL-Pro-Short-Sleeve-Jersey/83UM
It would be nice if they showed photos of the rear of the jerseys, though. [edit] Actually, one of them did show a rear photo.

Drop Helen or Tom an email in customer services and ask

Or just look at the Specialized site to see if there are better pictures?

Looks like it's a side zip from the video here https://www.cyclestore.co.uk/specia...013-ID_59927?gclid=CJaVmJn60cgCFQxmGwod8D0Nmw

This is the top zip, but over the right pocket, might be too colourful but there are others from the same brand

I just remembered there's a Specialized bike store near where I live that will most likely stock jerseys of that brand. This is where I got my Specialized road bike, so I'll pay them a visit. Nothing beats checking the jerseys in a store. I'll even buy the jersey there if I find one suitable, because they're a good store and deserve more custom.

I have had a lot of satisfation from the spring/autumn jackets AND the l/sleeved cycling shirts from Aldi/Lidl over the years....they only have a bike gear bonanza twice a year though...but well worth investigating when they come. The kit is CHEAP but mostly does the biz in my experience.

+1
As I just mentioned on another thread I bought this aldi one for around £12-14
It has a good size front zip pocket
and rear centre zip pocket
zip off arms to make a gilet
and windproof on arms/front.
I had a aldi compression shirt underneath and was warm the other morning at 6am 6deg C .
In fact I unzipped the neck at one stage to cool down a bit :smile:

Crivet at Lidl. Less than a tenner a pop. Buy half a dozen. Job done.

BTW, if that isn't going to be warm enough, George at Asda do really good acrylic sweaters for about £7. Slip one over the top.
