While not cheating you are making it easier for yourself than for those of us who play in hard mode. Where any revealed "hints" must be used in subsequent guesses.

I have played in Hard Mode for a long time. However, I’m not convinced it’s any harder, and as pointed out, can turn the puzzle into a guessing game. Hard Mode de-skills the puzzle. I’m going to stay with ’easy mode’.
