I seem to be getting luckier. I'm using the same starter word, but now getting it in 3 a lot more times than in 5, whereas previously it was almost exactly the same. 4 is still, by far, the most common number of guesses.

Ditto, and I think we are using the same starter word. But I think it is just clumpy statistics rather than any change in the program.

I've been thinking just that too. One explanation may be that, given all the time we waste doing this silly puzzle, maybe we are just getting better at it.

In November last year I noticed that my threes had overtaken my fives for the first time. Now they are 37 ahead.

Or perhaps it's getting easier.
