There is a limited lexicon for the words that are accepted, and an even more limited lexicon for words that are used. It's not like Scrabble, where it doesn't matter how obscure the word is, as long as it scores well. In Wordle, if you are using a word that very few people know, it won't be correct, and there is a word which is correct which will match the letters that you have got already.

Arr So thats it, is it. Thanks for enlightening me even though words like Axiom which we had a few weeks ago I wouldn't say was in common parlance What do you think. Bearing in mind your above about scrabble Axiom wouldn't be a bad score for scrabble would it.

Well As the Wordle game is made up by an American compiler, it being The New York Times. Perhaps its not in the American vocabulary, though I do find that hard to believe. Perhaps some one will enlighten me, as I can't perhaps comment without further research.

I've just tried LAITY using a different browser, rather than wasting a round.

Accepted as a word.
