Having established the finishing R-E, might it not be better (if not in Hard Mode) to use different letters there to get through more possibilities quicker?

Yes. I can see how that would work.

A (Norwegian) scrabble site tells me there are 345 five-letter words ending in -re!

Noticed Mrs P playing "Wordle" last night......multiple games in a row. I remarked there's only one game a day to which she replied no. She said she had the app. I had a brief look in Play Store and there is a "Wordle" app but its a very different game.

Surprised by how many copies are out there.
