Definitely. I had OUND by line two a few days ago only to be left with a choice of B, F, H, M, P, S, W. Failed to guess correctly but one out of seven is pure luck.

No I don't use hard mode though when I have I find it the more skillful game and yes I should have used an eliminator but didn't for reasons that escape me. Probably I only recognised the number of options after I'd failed! You were presumably using hard mode, or as we all know you could have played BUMPS or similar in round 3 and made certain of finishing in 4 or 5.
But aren't you missing the point? Under hard mode playing a word such as BOUND without having already eliminated sufficient possible first letters leaves you open to this sort of scenario, so it must be a sub-optimal move.
You mean you don't play as though your life depends on it!No I don't use hard mode though when I have I find it the more skillful game and yes I should have used an eliminator but didn't for reasons that escape me. Probably I only recognised the number of options after I'd failed!
Better than my first word, luckily my second was spot on https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/have-you-been-wordle-ing-no-spoilers-please.282524/post-6700924I'm having to think harder for novel starter words. This one worked disappointingly well.
