I've only done one so far but I did find myself looking for 5 letter words and then having to tell myself to pay attention! In theory, you get more chances to eliminate letters so that might help even things up.

After a number of tries with 6 and 7 letters I find that this is so, but I can't do it with the traditional method of single starter word/see where it leads.

I've had a few goes with 8 letters, using 4 pre-planned "research" words from which it's been relatively easy to deduce the answer, provided of course it's a word you've heard of. This one was quite explosive:

This site seems to allow you to play as often as you like so I presume it's a randomly selected word which other users won't get, or rather they will if they play long enough...
