I just start with a random word with no repeat letters. I haven't failed yet (hostage to fortune). I have missed days through travel and stuff.

I would suggest there are better words to start with using more common letters

Start with ***** Then, if it's a big miss on the vowels I go *****. So I've done all the vowels and five common consonants. If I get a decent hit with the first word I'll concentrate on that and ditch *****
