A bit sad when former 'Headline' acts are reduced to this.
But it's all Humbug and over my head, symptomatic of thls social media driven drivel.
I do hanker after the old days of proper community spirit , but then I'm a bit of a Grinch !
I'll just settle down with a bunch of Snozzcumbers ala the BFG , and be done with it ,

I don't usually bother with Lancaster's Xmas switch on, but did go down a couple of years ago as the Lancashire Hotpots were the main event, and they're always good fun. It was absolutely rammed and really enjoyable. This year it was a Take That tribute band... not my thing so didn't go.

My local Christmas lights.
Some people see a snow-covered bridge.
Some people see Christmas baubles silhouetted in front of a sparkly background.
But most people just see pants on a washing line.

!2,000 turned out to see Accrington's event, according to this report. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co....p-wows-accrington-christmas-lights-switch-on/ A friend who went to the event, mainly to see Martin Kemp said he was disappointing. He didn't sing she said. He just played records and did a bit of dad dancing as she described it. Well I did tell her before that he wasn't a vocalist in Spandau Ballet, not even a backing vocalist, he just made funny noises and played a guitar, how well or not, I don't know.

I mean anyone could play records and keep repeating "I can't hear you"! "Let me hear you at the back"! while waving their arms from side to side.

12000 people turned up... job done.
If it were Monty Veda playing records and shouting I can't hear you... they'd be lucky if 20 people hung around

Me and my mutt are off soon to watch the main event, stating at 4.45. :okay:

East 17 were ok! They did about 50 minutes on stage. Not my type of music, but they can still sing and do their dance routine quite well. :okay:
