Perhaps, but it's a convenient place to store Londoners and stop them cluttering up the nice parts of the country.
There aren't many Londoners left there. It used to be that suffering a few episodes of Eastenders before visiting provided a sufficient language refresher course....no longer.
London is so massive! When I took a black cab from Euston to St Pancras it took nearly 8 hours! We had to go via Brighton "because of the traffic gov" but it was probably the best £4,000 I ever spent considering the distance.
