I have a Full Suspension, Hard Tail and a Rigid and depending on the trails I'm riding will help with my bike choose. Quite a bit this year I was on trails with lots of roots and rocks, so the FS got a lot of use.

love full suspension, but the front must have a full lockout for me, climbing hills  but the off road bit you need both

I’ve had suspension bikes for decades, some with lockout, including remote lockout. I remember using it a couple of times because it was there but haven’t locked out a fork for years. In fact my newer forks don’t lock out at all.

might be my riding style, and weight i tend to lose alot of speed throw the forks bounding up and down with my pedal motions. it tends to help locking them to not get the spring, mainly hills.

It might be your style and/or cadence. When I am winching up a hill my cadence doesn’t resonate with the fork bounce. The only time I notice any significant ‘bob’ is when out of the pedals and sprinting, which I do nearly never on an MTB, and if I do it usually so spontaneous that I wouldn’t think to lock out first. My limited experience of locking out also tells me that I forget to unlock and realise this part-way down the next gnarly descent.
