I had a third of the pancake mix (4oz flour, 1/2 pt milk, 1 egg) as I'd had a whole lot of bread beforehand. Normally we'd go half-and-half on the pancakes. We have a special German waffling machine but didn't bother with it this year, just cooked the pancakes in the traditional manner. And despite having pepper in them they were still good

My wife made some pancakes. I told her they were crepes, but she maintained they were really quite good (and I ate 8)

If I'd remembered it was 'pancake day' I would have bought some Findus crispy minced beef pancakes and smothered them in ketchup. As it is I'll have to settle for it being 'heineken day' and forget about the ketchup.

I have to say I prefer the Mardi Gras tradition of young ladies exposing their norks to making pancakes.
