Those Chromebook things are ace, mine is only 2GB RAM and is way faster than my i5, 8GB supposedly super fast laptop. Happy birthday.
You're not wrong. No hard drive, it's switched on and ready to go instantly, very simple to use. For running software suites or doing vast volumes of proper work you'd be better off with a conventional lappie. However, for general websurfing, streaming, email and the occasional letter etc (the Wife's printer is Chrome ready and it links wirelessly to it) the Chromebook kicks a Windows or Mac lappie in the nuts and steals its lunch money.
No heat, no fan noise, and the battery life is staggering.
