is it ok to hang my bike up by the front wheel like they do in the shop? i wouldnt think it would do any damage but just like to check.

Front shocks don't always love it, but otherwise, yes.

Just check you don't try to hook it where the valve is.

because with any hydraulic system, you don't want air getting in. the fluid reservoir will be designed so that the air stays in a safe place at the top of the chamber when the bike is on it's wheels. if you hang the bike up, there is no guarantee that air won't get in the system. i guess it depends on the system.
