I may well lose my real job in the coming months, but I just found myself another one. OK, it is unpaid, but you cannot have everything. I currently volunteer at a before school club as the Finance Director, it looks like I will be spending some time I used to spend commuting looking after the kids because almost every regular staff member is in an at risk group.

My nephew works for a specialist auction company that relies on travelling around Europe acquiring goods to auction in Britain. The owner called them all in and gave them a vote on (a) immediate liquidation of the company or (b) all going on to minimum wage immediately. My nephew had just sold his pride-and-joy car to raise the deposit money for his first house, and had just been granted a mortgage in principle. This all happened the day before he was going to put in an offer, and he will now not be able to buy a house.

My son has been told he'll have to take a 25% wage cut (at least he wasn't laid off like some others). He has just bought his first house - first payment due beginning of April. At least we're in a position to help him.
Motability listed 550 cars for sale on their site today, they do this most days, only today none were sold, the list could grow by another 500 tomorrow. The value of £15,000 plus cars in auctions have dropped by £2,000 on many cases, that is this week, not this year. One of the busiest main agents in these parts have just gone to a 3 day week, they are certainly not entertaining sub contractors.

Some folks might jump at the chance to get a bit of fresh air, and exercise, as key food supply workers.
And there we were thinking it would be Brexit that would keep the seasonal workers away.

A Danish company made 750 people redundant today in Denmark. The same company closed its' entire Irish operation today.
Spoke with my son this evening and he is massively relieved by the Chancellor's announcements today which he believes will be a significant help to the leisure retailers he supplies.
A friend who works in B&Q tells me the company plans to close all stores in the near future. All staff will receive two weeks pay.

I'm kind of glad i don't have my window cleaning round now. Families struggling to pay bills etc wouldn't be wasting a fiver on their windows being cleaned.

My twin grandsons have just lost their jobs working at a local pub. They have been working there since they were 14. They are now 17.They have just been to a supermarket to apply for part time jobs shelf filling.
They are a credit to your family, good on them for wanting to work.
