I would be grateful if someone could suggest a handlebar bag with a map pocket if possible that I could use on my Specilized Sirrus Sport (06). Given number of cables I would assume I would need one with some kind of bracket. Value for money is a factor of course.

Thanks

Mine is a Carradice http://www.carradice.co.uk/handlebar-bags/super-c-frontbag-klickfix.shtml quality and it is very durable and waterproof.
It is quite large though which is good (for obvious reasons) and bad (affects the handling slightly when loaded and I would not like to ride hands free). It is pricey but the red version fades to a nice pinky crimson colour. The map case is only OK but I have a very good Ortlieb map case which fits instead.
Size of bag is one of the key things to think about AND does it fit your bars obviously. Is it just for valuables and will be used with rear panniers or is it for sole use alone.
The attachable map facility is very useful, if you like maps and tour a lot.
If you only want it for storage, I'd be tempted to get a bag to mount on the saddle or on a rack as these affect handling much less if at all.

Given that my racing / TT days are over I thought I would do some mile munching under the guise of fitness riding. I can see me going out for a day and commuting to work (20 mile round trip). I have also looked at a Carradice Barley as an alternative solution. To be honest I am a bit of a ‘just in case’ person so I tend to carry a lot with me when I am out ambling around the countryside.

I plan to try and take part in some local events later in the year with the target being a 100 mile outing so I will need to take some extra’s with me, food, drinks keys, phone and get me home spares. I think something around 5 or 6 litres may be sufficient; however being on a limited budget I may not be able to purchase the perfect solution.

Hi I have two one I paid a fortune for that clips to the bars with a klix quick release that is great and I wouldn't be without it, but I also bought one from I think auldi for a couple of quid and it's just a good but the bracket balances under the bars I find the main advantage is zipped pockets.
Bad points as mentioned handling when loaded, and the other thing that pees me off it blocks out you front lights (if bar mounted) and my camera point.

It must be big enough for :

Apple, Narna, Wallet, Phone, Showerproof jacket, Arm and Leg warmers.

Any of the above suitable ??
