Halfordsbike2work sheme

My employer has this set up, I am led to believe that you can still source another bike and use the Halfordsbike2work scheme, has anyone else been in this situation ? I am baffled as to why Halfords would be willing to have another company sell their bike through their bike to work scheme they must obviously be still making some sort of cut somewhere.

Yes, my wife wanted a bike from another shop, and Halfords did the paperwork. It works.

Yes, I used my LBS. just used the halfords voucher received through work

The shops pay a 10% fee which is why many either add it on top or will only take the voucher for a full priced bike

Apparently Wheelbase will also accept Halfords vouchers.

Halfords can also source a wide range of bikes from the main bike brands if you ask , you will pay full rrp for them last time i checked.

I bought a boardman via c2w as it offered the most kit for my money at the time but i did look at spesh . giant etc.

I always thought that doing a 0% interest option was better due to range you can get

Yes on full price bikes potentially, about 30% in theory as comes off gross salary

Depends what you want to buy though. You can get good deals on older bikes that might not be accessible through c2w. Issue can come if you leave or lose your job in the hire period. To keep the bike you lose the benefit
