Are any of these bikes any good for the price?

Just some info about me,

I currently own a Specialized Sirrus 2013 hybrid. I commute 6 miles round trip daily all year, all weathers. I find it sluggish and not really impressed generally.

I am thinking to put cow horn type handle bars on the new bike, I like sitting up.

Your Sirrus could be improved with faster tyres. It's a quick hybrid, so isn't slower than a road bike really, only tyres make the difference.

How narrow a tyre can I go without changing the wheels? I like using marathon plus tyres too.

What's your budget?

I don't know how you'd change gear with bullhorns on a roadbike?

I can go £500 if i thought it was good value arrow-10x10.png like a good sale price. But if I can get one of these, and it is good

Carrera Zelos Road Bike for £199

Carrera Vanquish Road Bike 2015 for £264

Carrera TDF Mens Ltd Road Bike for £199

Doubt any would be better than the Sirrus, probably heavier, stick some better tyres on the Specialized, a Continental GP4000 or similar

I was in a similar position last year and of the three bikes you've listed, the Vanquish was the most recommended.

That said, I ended up blowing the budget and buying a Boardman Road Comp. :okay:

Have you looked at the end of line bikes on their website? Limited availability but some real bargains if you're lucky.

A mate has an older version of the TdF and it has proven a reliable and fun bike to ride. Bit of a bonus that it now comes with a carbon fork. Beyond better shifters I can't see that the Vanquish is worth an extra £60 and I've no experience of the Zelos, so of the three you've highlighted my vote would go to the TdF.

That Cinelli is ace value. But if the OP puts cow horns on it, I will hunt him down and subject him to unspeakable torture.

Seriously the sluggishness is probably the marathon pluses. Conti 4 seasons offer almost as much puncture protection for much less weight and better riding experience.

since when did halfords start selling Cinelli's

and the 3 Carrera's @Deadeye mentions are all good value road bikes , having had a couple of them come and go i would say yes to the Zelos but check the hubs have been greased and set up right as all of the ones i have had were not and thats why i got them cheap
