Halfords Polaris Cycling Gear?

I'm just heading off to Halfords to pick up some of their spoke reflectors - I was also considering picking up some 3/4 tights whilst there - anyone got any thoughts on Halfords own brand stuff? I'll be replacing a DREADFUL pair of Sports Direct Karrimor shorts which cost about a fiver. Polaris stuff is about £20 so whilst I'm sure it's not Assos quality, does anyone own any and may I ask how you find it?

I've had a few Polaris things over the years and it is reasonably good quality though I don't think its as good as it used to be. Some of it is sold in Halfords but its not Halfords own brand. The stuff I've seen in Halfords seems to be the lower end of the Polaris range and usually in weird sizes.

Polaris shorts are shite. i've had a pair for a year and they keep splitting at the seams (no im not too fat). the seams are just rubbish. even the stitching on the leg grippers is coming undone.

also got a Polaris jersey and the zip has bust.

cheep rubbish, avoid like the plague !!!

IF you order their skull cap and reserve and collect it then its half price at £4.99.
Just got one and it seems like it will be OK but not had time to test it yet. Possibly a bargain if you ride warly or late, I know my bald spot will appreciate it.

Polaris lightweight yellow jackets are brilliant - I've had one for about seven (counts grey hairs) make that twelve years.

I don't think that they're a Halfords own brand

I like Endura kit, it's a good middle ground price and quality wise, my Endura 3/4 winter bibs lasted me ten years, they are getting too thin to be warm now but I have still used them in the last two freezing winters doubled up under courier shorts or full length tights.

Got a Polaris long-sleeve winter jersey and it's been ace. Maybe their stuff has changed, but their tops were pretty useful. Shorts though are worth paying reasonable money and DHB seem excellent vfm.

After reading this thread i went onto Halfords Site and ordered the Polaris Headband which was reduced from £9.99 to £4.99 and when i got to the store it went through at only £1.24 now thats a bargain and thanks for posting he info on there sale
