I'm doing the 26 miles ride for Diabetes UK. My first ever charity cycle, I'm really looking forward to it! Any ideas of best way to get publicity, local magazines etc.?

I'll be doing the 52 miles this year, done the 26 last year at 20mph average... hoping to be faster this year! Just finished the Macc Monster yesterday so might be nice to do a flat course xD

Yep anything marked as a hazard, be prepared to slow down, tight hairpin doesn't instill confidence with a couple of thousand cyclists on the route at one time. Mind you as long as we are not expected to wait to go over a footbridge this year, it has to be an improvement.

I'm looking forward! Sounds like a nice challenge. Is the route all on road/Mancunian Way? I can't really tell from the map.

It was mostly on road with some wide surfaced paths last year. You cross the main central bit of the city via the Mancunian Way in both directions.

Still part of the team !
I'm very surprised that they're going over the Mancunian Way in the "correct" directions.
Surely that's inviting some late night attempts at getting times on Strava ?
I'd just like to add that I shan't be trying this................
