This is my choice and has been for two years on my titanium Kinesis which I use for winter and gravel riding. They're fine for summer road riding but hard work when everyone else is on slicks of some sort.

When group riding in summer with these tyres I can't find the acceleration needed to catch the group but provided I don't get dropped it's fine. A combination of the titanium frame and the tyres I think.

When I go touring next Spring I'll swap them for a road tyre.

I'm confused. Where are gravel tyres actually needed in London? In my neck of the woods, it seems to be mainly tarmac.

I think he’s looking for a tyre for commuting not fast riding/racing though

Tyre pressure should be checked before every ride. It's a two minute job.

It is checked - with my thumb and weight - not a way of gauging psi but a way of letting me know if they're flat/need pumping up. The ride is informative too and will often precipitate a pumping. Like I tried to convey before, I'm not anal about tyre pressures, as long as they're in the ball park - then I'm happy. I'm not going to get the pump (with gauge) out before every ride to check and adjust. If I've been off the bike for a while, then I will get the pump out - pump them to about 60-70 psi and then not worry about it until they start to feel too soft again.

I have some GK semi slick for winter use, good on the road and can cope with a bit of off.
I have some some GK full slicks as well, despite the name they are not a gravel tyre, they roll well.
I find the Panaracers more robust than the Schwalbe G one all round, but you seem to be having problems with GK, it may be that I have used the G ones more so they have had a few punctures, they are decent tyres though.

Yes, I think so to and I feel, like you, the G1 All Round is a good tyre. I like it for winter/gravel but it does the job in summer if some reason my carbon bike isn't available to use. I only use the Kinesis with these for fast riding when I've no other choice. He did say "I am trying to find a gravel tyre which can withstand the streets of London" and I'd view these as ideal. I know speed isn't part of commuting but I can hit 22mph on these tyres so they should easily cover his needs at a very good price.

I don't see anything anal in riding a bike with the correct tyre pressure for the tyre and individual, it gives better traction, comfort and tyre wear, a better all round experience. Clearly your choice as it is mine.

And it is a choice. And I didn't tell you what you should or shouldn't do , as you did me.
