Like when you're ona forum and younask a question, someone always replied:

You can google that
Google isnyour friend
Why don't you just google that

And similar. It's like you come on a forum to ask a question, have a banter. Google can't do that (or maybe it can).

Agh - one of my pet hates. I know there likely worthy forum denizens from the world over who are sick of answering what, to them, are blindingly obvious questions. But it's super frustrating to find a forum thread that promises to answer your own question (through Google, of course) that consists entirely of people SHOUTING at the questioner to use Google or to UTFS. I DID! NOW I'M HERE! Grr.

Anyway, re. Google in general... Do they have too much power and influence? Yes. Do I love using their free (as in, I do not pay for them) services? Yes. Have I been lulled into being a dutiful little data spout for an evil multinational corporation? PDGTFM
