Ive had a pair of these and found them to be a very good budget tyre

The width of 23c would be a concern for me. I used to have a Hybrid Pro and only ever want as slim as a 25c. Have you thought of the Schwalbe Durano? They have puncture protection and are pretty much bomb-proof (IME) on the road.

i think my tyres at the minute are 28, would 25 still be ok on my wheels? think i would get that size if theyl be ok. jst had a look at the duranos they seem to be really good but there like 20-25 per tyre so it will be getting to 40 quid for a pair, maybe a bit too dear for me at the minute. any other suggestions on good tyres that i could look at within £30, im after one with a white stripe on them as well

I had a pair of Lagunas on a bike I bought recently, yellow :stop:, seemed horrible to ride on, every big groove, mark on the road etc felt terrible. It was like riding a bike with little to no air in the tyres, even though they were at 120 psi, bump wise. Rolling resistance was good though. I thought it might be the wheels so stuck some different tyres on them, same diameter width but slightly higher wall and they were fine.

would 23 still be usable on my wheels even though iv got 28s on at the minute? i presume theyd be a lot narrower, does 5 mm make much of a difference? are the blizzards a good choice then? how about puncture protection, do they have any extra eatures like that?

They are good tyres, should be fine with 25c, 23c could be quite incomfy on an frame

The Lugano is a good budget tyre. Have done thousands of miles on Luganos and they always held up very well and performed well for the money.

I ride 23's exclusively, the difference is probably marginal, 23's are pretty standard to roadies. What I meant above though, although said in jest, was that one should only use black tyres because coloured tyres are lame.
