Can't fault my eagerness..
Just wondered if instructions/packaging or anything gave an 'expected' figure..

I think you should go out on a nice long night ride

No instructions.

Advice: there is a very tiny small plastic cover inside the unit preventing the switch being turned on whilst in the shop - remove this before trying to switch it on and then going off on a rant about electrical stuff never bloody working!:biggrin:

Advice: as previously stated in the thread, the battery fit is snug. The batteries it comes with fit fine. 2800's do not fit, do not even try. 2500s are a very snug fit and I needed to push them out with a pen. I reckon 2000s would be fine, but I'll have to buy some to find out.

I am very impressed by the fixing things BTW. And good service as well, next day free delivery when I bought 2.

The 2800 etc..what are you referring to? The mAH of the battery?
My rechargeables are 2700..hmm!
Wasn't aware they were slightly different sizes

Neither had I until it was mentioned earlier. Possibly just a hairs breadth difference in size, so not really something you'd notice. But the 2800s did not even fit in the top, and the 2500s were very tight.

I should be out for a few rides in the dark next week so I'll let you know how it fairs.

May have to give that a go
Would 1 be sufficient for unlit lanes or not?
Any indication to battery life? :girl:

I tried out my new Tesco 3w torch tonight, bodged onto my helmet with rubber bands. It is about twice as bright as the Cateye 530 on my bars, and with the two together 25mph on completely unlit roads was OK.
When I got home after an hour or so the Tesco light was no brighter than the Cateye...This was with the supplied batteries, I've yet to try it with rechargeables.
