Just been told that the cannondale synapse I ordered 1 month ago still hasn't even arrived in the country. Next best estimated date is now end of April. Not the LBS fault, Cannondale were to blame

I was p*ssed off so told them to cancel, but they said that they had a demo model in the shop which I could have with some free extras to make up for the hassle + when the new bike finally arrives they will take the demo back and give me the new one. That way they get a sale and I get to ride a new bike quicker. The demo model is the one I tried out when I originally ordered the bike so I know it fits

Result

The LBS is Edinburgh Bike Co-op. Good place.

Edit: posted here rather than start a new thread. Seems the right thing for us to highlight quality service when we can.

It's not often you find a bike shop where all the parts fit together in a great way: for the north east Kent coast - Herberts Cycles in Whitstable.
Here's a thank you to this exceptional LBS:
an independent bike shop with a history from the 1930s, brilliant service that doesn't rip you off or patronise, and a workshop that can do it all with a very fair price list. The memorabilia & vintage themed items just add to the overall impression.
Their generosity during the corona lockdown was a classy gesture to the community.
