I suspect he'd have said nothing or nothing remotely controversial anyway. The breaking of the omerta and talking about the past moral dilemmas and pressures is all good as far as I'm concerned.
There are still a huge number of riders who would prefer the past was never mentioned wrt doping.

I suspect he was rather put on the spot given the 2 main talking points over the last month.

If you read the interview, he volunteered his opinion before being asked about doping but I suspect we're not going to agree on this so I'll leave it there.

Actually most pro-cyclists have tried to avoid saying anything particularly interesting about this and are certainly not as forthcoming and forthright. You appear not to be interested in anything he says or the intelligent, thoughtful and reflective manner in which he comes across because of what exactly? You don't trust any pro-cyclists? Or particularly American ones? Either way, why not engage in some discussion of what he actually says or don't bother at all, because at the moment it seems as if you had already decided what you thought about Talansky even before you read the interview anyway.

Oh dear you are getting touchy on the other side of the pond aren't you ? and with good reason, your sport is in a fecking great hole and you are going to need a big ladder to get out of it. Getting the drift yet ?Or do you an internet article to draw you a picture as usual. I 'll bother when I feel like it, not when you do !

You'd do better with a little less name dropping and taking those rose tinted specs off.

 Firstly, I'm British (and in any case, Ontario isn't in the USA, it's in Canada), and secondly, if you have been paying attenion to threads in this part of the forum, you'll know where I stand on doping and I have a far from rose-tinted view. And I'm not sure what you are refering to with your comment on 'name-dropping'... like most of the rest of your post, it doesn't make a lot of sense.

Anyway, back to Talansky... I thought what was particularly interesting was his specific reference to the cynics - people who just make generalized comments that everyone's doping without any particular basis. In this case, he named one of those people, a rider in the US peloton, in particular. He's quite clear that these kind of allegations appear to be based on a combination of what was widespread in the past and professional jealousy. As far as I know, there have been no suspicions raised about Talansky, except for these generic ones. The end of the omerta amongst both younger riders and those older riders who are now prepared to admit what they did is new thing, and it's a good one. It still has a long way to go - there are not many people around with the courage that Talansky has, to be so upfront and not evade the question or make some generic answer.

I know who you are and where you are, perhaps you're under the 'pond'?

As usual you ve missed the point completely.

At some stage pro cycling has got to be sold to the American Public again ?

St Jonathen and his disciples realise this, even if you don't.

Are you getting it yet ?
