Stupid question time ..

Hi, looking to buy myself a bike and not sure what to go for. I have a budget of £400 and want something for road and trail riding with my lad.
I don't do alot of riding and the bike lives on the back of the car alot of time so I don't want something thats going to rust overnight.

You could perhaps consider the Raleigh Pioneer Metro GLX, or Ridgeback Meteor.

Probably best to visit a bike shop and test ride a few different models.
