Depends how early/late you ride it

Well not on crazy overnight audaxes, with owls for company. Instead I've only ridden it in sane daylight hours with coaches and HGV's for company......hang on a sec...

Exactly! Much more sane to ride it at 'stupid' times

And you can play out Abbot and Costello sketches with owls...well one sketch

Hi,

I'm heading up to Glencoe this weekend and camping at the Red Squirrel campsite. Was wondering if anyone has cycled the above route and how safe it would be (will there be cars boming around at 70-80mph around Loch Leven). Should be a really good ride otherwise.

Thanks

The Red Squirrel campsite is one of the worst places for midgies I've ever experienced in the West of Scotland:sad: Handy for the Clachaig Inn though;)

While you're up there you MUST MUST MUST stop at that petrol station that you come to just after crossing the Ballaculish bridge in North Ballaculish (it used to be a Shell but could have changed now) when heading north and look back across Loch Linnhe from the forecourt. For me, this is (despite you being in a petrol station) one of the absolute best views in the whole of Great Britain, if not Europe. The mountains you are looking in wonder at are collectively known as Beinn a Bhethir, pronounced Ben Vair which means The Peak of the Thunderbolt in English. In fact, if you have time, climb the buggers! Whatever you do though, stop at that garage and look back south for a sumptuous, glorious view.

Fantastic, I'll make a point of stopping there!

By the way, thanks for the responses everyone, there's some really good pointers.

I cheked out the music for Saturday and apparently there's some sort of RnB night on!?! Think I'll stay round the fire and take my guitar / banjo!
