The simple answer is not to stop: mine only steam up in cold weather when I stop and my general steaminess gets to them.

....but then there are no traffic lights where I do my riding!

Not much traffic or lights where I ride either but a lot of poorly surfaced roads and many potholes. I find they steam up if you slow down to negotiate the bumpy bits.

I get steamy windows when I stop. I used to spit/rub my goggles at the swimming pool to stop them steaming up but haven't tried it with my glasses.

That didn't work because you degreased the lenses and left them cleaner than ever, which allows the moisture to accumulate easily on the cold lenses. The idea is to smear a little dishwash liquid on them and leave it to dry, this absorbs the moisture and becomes gel-like rather than allowing it to condense in droplets. Waste of time in my experience because the dishwash makes your vision blurry.

Oh right! Maybe I will try the washing up liquid on just one lense to see how blurry (or soapy) it gets.
