I've been banned since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. It's not the medication which is the problem but the possibility that I might faint due to the drop of pressure once the pint has been extracted.....I'd happily take that risk but I guess 'Elf & Safety rears its head.
Years ago I donated in the morning at work and went for a run on the Downs at lunchtime, huge mistake and lurched back into the office just before the search party was mustered.
For those a little timid about taking the plunge I was very impressed with the donor care as I am petrified of needles and blood.......especially when they are going into me and it's my blood!
