About 6 tons maybe a bit more though with first and second coat
That is 6 one ton bulk bags so wet weight
Project is a special one!
A Tudor style house built from scratch by my dad in our field because we need a bigger house so that I can have my own bedroom to store my bikes in and have a tiny bed!
Cheers Ed

Wow, is that timber framing and all that? That's quite some project!

Some nice Rothkoesque influences there Arch....good enough for the Tate!

When I did my OU degree, one year was 20th Century Art, and at the summer school we had a talk from a contemporary installation artist. One of his projects was inside an old power station. He demolished a few yards of an old concrete walkway, and then rebuilt it in fresh concrete. It meant something terribly significant, apparently.

did get a company to make the oak frame though to make a 2 storey plus attics and everything else including overhangs oak frame would have taken him 5 years!

Wow, brilliant!

I assume you're going for a contemporary interior though, not straw on the floor and rushlights....
oak flooring most of the house but the kitchen and hall i think or maybe just the kitchen i forget now are having stone with under floor heating and yes all lights will be led! H&S wouldn't allow rush lights probably
have a full height to the eaves grand hall and will have a hand made chandelier with led bulbs in it
Cheers Ed

Nice! LED lights are good, we have them in the bedroom, we've worked out they'll probably outlast us!

You can always have lots of candles on special occasions, make it really atmospheric.

Will there be a garden? Would be lovely with a Tudor knot garden.

as bulbs fail in our current house (energy effecient ones) we replace them with led's they are great only 5 or 7 w odd
considering my mum and dad run a plant nursery and my mum is a garden designer and we live on about 11.5 acres of land yes there will be a garden!
Cheers Ed

All our low energy bulbs (both at NT's house and my flat) seem to be lasting forever. We've got the six we took out of the bedroom uplighters, and no idea what to do with them - they work fine but all the other fittings are already low energy! I've got low energy bulbs I brought from my previous place 8 years ago, and they were 2 or 3 years old then.

I bet the garden will be stunning then. I think if I had the space and time I'd like a knot garden with little box hedges, but to grow veg in all the beds.

Friend: Hi, F, have you met A?
Me: No, hi A.
Friend: A, you know I was telling you about this really hard-core couple? Well F is half of that couple.
Me: Err, oh, um, not really...
The rest of my contribution to the conversation was then along the lines of ... blah, blah, Ironman triathlon... blah, blah, 300km Audax ... blah
Me, later, to my boyfriend: I don't think I managed to convice A that I'm not really hard-core...
