'Interesting' what Cav said about Garmin-Slipstream (who came in 2nd). Surprise for me is LA leading Astana over for 3rd... am I going to be very surprised sometime soon?

I thought that too - as Levi is supposedly the team leader, why have Armstrong cross the line?

Anyhoo.

Pleased to see Cav in the Maglia Rosa, but gutted for Garmin - margin was slim, I hear, too. I hope Garmin have a good Giro, they deserve a better season than they're having, imo.

Hopefully Cav can keep it for a few days.

He should win the next couple of stages. I admit I had reservations about him last year, and thought he was less talented than he said he was - but I now reckon he is as good as he thinks he his.

Go Cav!!!

Those extra points will cost you in other areas of the team (is my reasoning).

Who do you have a sprinter? Not saying you are wrong not to pick him (but you are )....seriously I like to know how people think about their picks. I have some well strange selections, but I have justified them to myself. Last year I tried to pick the strongest team but the Fantasy points don't work like that. I doubt if I'll get it right this year either...

Petacchi: My reasoning is he's going to give Cav a close run so still pick up points. That gave me an extra 4 points to use on my Grimpeurs (what's the Italian word?). For some reason I picked Soler in my team as well

No Astana boys for me  I know, shocked myself too. I've got this prickly feeling I'll regret that.

I also chose Petacchi.

I did not want to spend the next three weeks in diplomatic negociations with the team, so Cavendish was not in contention. The likelihood of Cavendish gelling with Mr Sastre, and Mr Voigt and Mr Pellizoti is fairly remote IMHO.

In the absence of Alejandro Valverde, I chose Jaoquim Rodrigues.
