Great news for Northern Island, the locals and probably local business... but I can't help but feeling that it's getting a little bit silly now... can't help but feel that the riders are being treated like performing seals or something.
+1. Look at some of the crazy finishes, narrow approaches, through towns where there are no spaces between road and house doors, mad climbing finishes, stupid descents. A risky race at times, and for me it shows little respect for the people who are there to provide the racing. It could be so good, too, and I had hoped now it's "under new management" things would improve, but we shall see.

There are plenty of places in Italy which are as described by oldroadman. Sensible routing should negate the back streets. Riders in grand tours are not much more than performing seals anyway outside the top 5 in the gc.

Love watching them though.
