OK, no pressure on me to actually carry through with my plan now...
I'll be perfectly honest, I would have gone for Sagan for this one. Don't even know if he was racing. It all kind of passed me by as I was busy doing other stuff yesterday, but I'm absolutely chuffed to bits for Purito that he won after the disappointment of the Worlds. And great that he's now top of the WT rankings - he's deserved it for being the most consistent rider over the course of the season.
Do we know how many ranking points are available for Beijing? It looks like Froome's season is over now, so are Valverde or Sagan still contenders, or is the title Purito's? (And what is the "title" worth in practical terms anyway?)

Purito takes the 'title' with this win and now can forego doing the T of Beijing. I imagine it's kudos only which may be a currency he can spend in other ways - contracts, advertising etc.
