Covid restrictions are back in the pro peloton.Fingers crossed we don't get many more !
Mask in areas where they come in contact with other riders, start & finish.
People who talk to a rider, needs to wear a mask.
Tests are avaliable for the teams that want it. They decide to withdraw the rider or not.

Stable door being bolted. I read that on the ski lift thingy down from stage 7(? the one where the UCI got antsy about helicopters) the lift wasn't block-booked for riders and they had to rub shoulders with the stinky coughing masses. I think Remco was one of those who was helicoptered so not directly relevant, but indicative of how far the guard has dropped.

Would you really want to place bets on how infection-controlled the helicopter waiting area was? Despite the salvo of pre-giro warning shots, it's looked rather like almost nothing has been put in place to reduce rider sickness risks, whether covid or older diseases. It sucks because I want to see the best racer win, not who's cautious behind the scenes.

No, but I'd hazard a completely uninformed guess that it was better controlled than inside a ski-lift gondola with random members of the public, just because there would be fewer people.

Anyway, we don't have to worry any more because the stable door now has a state of the art locking system.

Still going to get drunken fans screaming in their face on the roadside (that's what I do when I go and watch races anyway) they can only try their best.
I reckon that's the beauty of pro cycling....we get to rub shoulders and get close up so to speak.

That's probably fairly minor risk compared to prolonged time in an enclosed space with the same people, especially now ordinary people neither test nor isolate.
