Sorry about the title. Nowt to do with girls, but it got your attention:biggrin:

Looking for a bit of good advice here lads and lasses and I know I can rely on you good people.

Thing is, I don't usually ride at night as these days I prefer to be tucked up in bed when it gets dark. However Mrs A and I are soon to be abroad after sundown on for the most part, unlit roads. No great distances involved, probably for no more than an hour at a time, but black as a coal hole in Hades. I am therefore looking for recommendations as to front and rear lights suitable for the job in hand. Not too pricey mind, as we'll need two sets. Any ideas please?

These are good for the money and you can see where you're going. I can highly recommend fenix but you're going to have to pay a lot more

You've just changed the Title !!

I wondered what I had replied to ;)

Knogs are excellent cheap blinkies that accompany lights well

rears are easy but fronts to light the road ahead? you get what you pay for I'm afraid, especially if you need burn time

Modern LED fronts are bright enough to illuminate a dark road and are leagues ahead of the old tungsten, krypton or even halogen filament bulb lamps.

I use the 3LED Smart front lamp on dark lanes with no probs but this; http://www.fisheroutdoor.co.uk/public/index.php/product/LAM183W5.html looks to be even better.

Bear in mind that, as you'll be riding together you'll each get the benefit of the other's front light so pair of 3LED lamps will probably be enough.
