Like FM I used to have lovely copperplate style handwriting until I started to use computers for everything. Now my writing is really messy - it could improve if I used a decent pen (some people I work with still write in fountain pen), but any old biro will do so it generally looks crap.

I've never really had girly handwriting I don't think. We were told off at school for drawing circles where we should dot the 'i'

yep, definitely the writing instrument makes a difference. i love Scheaffer fountain pens (yea, i dunno how to spell it tho!) and give me one of them and my handwriting is all the same and really neat.

I'm a girlie with a variety of writing styles depending on how quickly I am writing - yes I do write some of my 'a's like a typewriter though not all, and put the dot above the i in my signiture but not in normal writing. Its my signiture that has deteriated the most... and I blame that one signing in to work and signing documents etc. I have one signiture for cheque book, passport etc, and another for pointless documents. At its most basic its just one letter drawn out to fill the space provided.
