I am going to go to my LBS on Saturday to order my new road bike
The money I have to spend it will be a Giant Defy
But do I get a Defy with Disc Brakes or Rim?
They are both the same price however the group set on Rim is Ultegra and disc is 105
What should I go for?

Thanks

For me personally, I don't like the look of discs on a road bike.
My errand/shopping bike has discs and they are great, but not on a road bike for me.

All weather riding? Discs with 105
Dry weather riding, rim fine
And importantly, whichever bike isn't black if either are ;)

Really, however you should ride and then decide

For me, and others will disagree, rim is best of that choice. Cable discs are not worth the hassle. Discs are only worth it when hydraulic, or at least the calliper is hydraulic. Else you end up adjusting them all the time. At least, that's been my experience.

My Defy (2012 purchase) is on its third set of wheels thanks to all year round commuting in all weathers. I now use a disc-braked Revolt for winter and wet commuting and the Defy comes out on dry days only.

Thanks very much for all the advice.
I have a Boardman Comp Hybrid With disc brakes. So I use this for commuting all year.
I will then use the Giant for weekend rides and sportives
So will be good to have a bike with Rim and Disc brakes?

My cable discs, Avid BB7's. I don't have to 'adjust them all the time'. Perhaps yours weren't set up properly.
