S.Giles, I guess you get what you pay for, I think these were the cheapest but at the moment they will do... If I need to replace them further down the line due to anything like that then I will purchase better ones. At least this way, I will know if I like this sort or not.

I dont know about City Jets, but if 26x1.5" fit try Gatorskins I ride these on my rode bike 700x23 or 25c the front has currently done just short of 8,000 miles without a puncture, thats just over a year (got it end of July last year), and I think there are still a few more thousand on it, the rear last about 5,500 though that did get two pinch punctures from hitting stones pretty hard, the last took a chunk of rubber out of the tyre and put a slight dent in my rim.

Hi Moe.

I think the City Jets I bought last time could have been from a bad batch or something. The previous set (purchased approx. three years earlier) are still on my old bike, and looking comparatively good. Neither Schwalbe nor the retailer seemed particularly interested when I contacted them, so I've said 'goodbye' to Schwalbes now.

BTW, I had to replace the rear tyre in a hurry, so went to Halford's and picked up a 'Bikehut' puncture-resistant (26x1.5) slick tyre marked 'DSI'. So far, so good, but I had to pay through the nose at £25! I don't mind, so long as it works (and lasts) though. Halford's get a lot of stick (sometimes even from me), but they do seem to ensure that their spare parts and tools at least meet a workable minimum standard. The same cannot always be said of Ebay vendors!

I had longitudinal sidewall craks in a Schwalbe Lugano, sent it back & got a replacement FOC. Running them for about a year with no problems now. They do wear down quickly though..

I got my tyres today, fitted them really easily! Didn't even need tyre levers to put them on! Just been for a really quick ride up the road and back and..... I think I'm gonna like them! I was a bit scared of the pressure the tyre suggested though!! Put it a bit below! :/ lol
