I've never drafted but I do sometimes ride at a safe distance behind a stranger because I feel it's somehow disrespectful for a 55 year old with a pacemaker to overtake a cyclist in his 20's on a "state of the art" carbon bike with all the latest accessories.

I had an interesting one tonight. Guy caught me up and drafted me for a bit, then procceded to undertake me on my left, boot it through the traffic at close quarters and hammer down a shared path. I choose to take a nicer approach and move with the traffic and then filter off onto the path when there was room before cycling at a sensible speed on the path. Just thought he was a tosser.

Personally I don't draft, I hang back and take it easy for a bit or power by and keep the speed up.

Outside riding with friends iv only ever drafted one stranger. I was commuting after a busy day and decided to take it easy.... i was aware i was being drafted by someone but didnt feel the need to speed up untill he passed me and gave me a rather smug "afternoon!"

I was obviously furious with this slight to my manliness and decided to persue. I drafted him for about a mile along the flat. As he started to struggle on a climb, I slowly passed him and gave him an even smuggler and ridiculous"AFTERNOON!" And pulled a peach from my pocket and took a leisurely bite...

It was meant in jest and I was going to let him draft me up the hill. But I think the smug peach bite broke him mentaly and I had no choice bit to leave him in the dust...

That's cheered me up for the day - worth more than a mere like.
Thank you
