When I got into cycling I used the sudocrem from when the kids were babies, it was a good ten years past its expiry date, nothing dropped off, or not that I noticed.

I don't collect old cosmetics or medicines, but Lady slomotion has drawers full of them, some at least 30 years old. What I have noticed is that those in plastic tubes seem to lose the more volatile components (presumably because they leach into the plastic of the tube) and that the contents become solidified. Those in metal tubes remain as fluid as before.
Get out the badger bristle right now!
