Just getting new bike ready for first ride tomorrow and thought the bottom bracket looked odd. Should it not have covers on the end or is this normal for Genesis bikes, both this side and chain ring side are same ?

All looks pretty normal to me.

Thanks Phil. I was use to the splined covers on the end of crank like this one and thought something was missing. Thank you for reply

That's a different BB, outboard bearings on the 2nd piccy (Hollowtech) whereas yours is either octolink or square taper.

Whoa, I take that comment back
I have looked at your photo again and can see the same shiny looking chrome internal ring on yours, that is on mine. The thing I would say is that your crank arm appears to be further away from the frame than mine.
