Do you get the whole 'gravel bike' thing..? It's not about road v CX.

How is the GT 'road biased' ?? I have a Jamis Renegade and I would not call it CX biased - not sure where you get that from. The BB is too low , the top tube slopes too much and the bike is generally too heavy to be a competitive CXer.

You asked if the Datum was road or CX biased. It is a gravel/adventure bike. The definitions are pretty clear if you read up on them.
