hehe yah cept im losing weight so my ass is gonna change measurements lol
The bones won't assuming you are a full grown adult (without any sort of condition that affects your bones)! They don't measure the fleshy bits but the width of your sit bones! Less weight will however place less pressure on your softer nether regions as long as you have the right saddle (not only width, but also shape, size, level of padding)

Looky here!

Go and get your bum measured - then buy the right width saddle. Job will be done with 99.9% certainty (reduced by 0.01% as you may have a peculiar bum).

Cycling forums are full of people who buy saddle after blooming saddle based on nothing more than someone else posting that their XYZ Uber-perch fits their arse like a glove. Said saddle arrives, gets fitted, expectation runs high and inaugural ride follows. Cue massive disappointment as your bum is nothing like the shape of the person who recommended it to you.

Go and get your bum measured....

Go and get your bum measured....

Go and get your bum measured....

Ad nauseam......
And not to mention it does take a little bit of time for saddles and bums to get used to each other as all saddles will give a little over time, I hated the San Marco one I have now when I got it, these days its not a major issue, not sure I would like to do many 50+ miles rides back to back mind, but then it was only £22 and needed as my other broke.

You need a Specialized dealer who have the equipment, you'll need to be wearing lycra bottoms ideally, ask to have your sit bones measured, then see what saddles they have in the correct size

Otherwise, you can put a piece of tinfoil on a step, sit on it in your lycra shorts and then measure the width between the indentations left by your bones

This all assumes that you really can't get on with your saddle after doing lots of miles wearing quality padded shorts (and that it's set up correctly, position and also angle). If you're new to cycling, you also need to let your nether regions toughen up and get used to cycling

The person who invents the 'One- Size- Suits- All' saddle will probably be in line for a Nobel Peace Prize!

'Get yer @rse measured' is probably good advice...but my god... finding the right saddle is like the quest for the Holy Grail, only without the amusing exploding rabbits.
I am currently having problems with pain in the Gentlemans Area and the saddle I swore was the most comfortable (for me) no longer is. (WTB Laser Titanium) so now |i am trying an SMP 'Extra' with padding and outrageous cut-outs. HOWEVER... I have yet to try it and am prepared to be disappointed!

Saddles........can't live with 'em...can't live without 'em.......Its a shame that not all bike shops seem able to keep a stock of 'triers'. It can get expensive.

I cover about 300km a week on a 40 year old bare plastic saddle, with a cheap asda gel cover on it. Comfiest saddle I've ever had. Just seems to be just 'right'

Never got on with the Charge Spoon as after an hour or 2 it starts to get a little troublesome but I put up with it on my mountain bike - on my road bike I have a Prologo Scratch 2 with titanium rails and I dont know its there. Fantastic saddle.

Saddles are pretty personal. I suit flatter topped saddles. I mainly use Selle Italia. Do watch out for ones that are overly squishy. Some gel ones aren't very firm.

I've got 4 different saddles, all are WSD, all are the correct sit bone fitting but they are all reasonably comfortable for the types of ride I do on each bike. For me, decent padded shorts are the key
