My chain wont stay on the large cog, it goes on, then immediatly jumps to the next cog, the only way to keep it on the large cog is to keep your finger on the shift lever, take your finger off and it jumps to the next cog.
It doesnt matter if the chain is on the large or small chain ring it still jumps
The gears are shimano 105, and they have not had much wear,
Im not very good with bikes, so should i take it to my local shop,
Does it sound a big job, cant take it back to where i bought it, shop is in Manchester.:wacko::smile:

Sounds like you need to adjust your front derailer.
Here you go
http://bicycletutor.com/adjust-front-derailer/

I did wright a post in how to set up the rear mech but then started to think it was the fount so I stopped.

If it is the rear

1st go to the where the cable goes into the mech there will be a adjuster screw that it goes into it and unscrew it one turn then test it if not do it once more. If that does not work return it to where it was and try.

2nd by the adjuster screw there will be two small screws one with H and one with L next to it. Unscrew the L by 1/2 a turn and test if not do it once more.

I think he is going to be some time as he is on the crapper:laugh:

I love it when people post a question then retreat to watch us lot argue the diagnosis like physicians of old:

"leeches I tell you, he needs leeches!"
"No, his veins need air. Bleed him"
"What about his stools? We must inspect them"

Indeed, what about his stools? You're right Dayvo: Big Job.
