Make sure you get stainless steel, not galvanised or "rust free". IME the PTFE coated ones are a waste of money, as tge coating flakes off and jams in the outer.

Why not do a search under stuff I've posted with Jagwire as a keyword? Perhaps then you'll eat your words. When you find it you are welcome to critique my argument. I have also on many occasions provided alternatives as well as discussed Jagwire, Gore, Shimano and Clarke cable. The OP (like you) could have searched the topic and added to the original post.

I've just had these fitted on a flat bar road bike, shifting and braking was good when I rode the other day

I got blue which look really good on the bike. Limited colours, but there are probably other retailers

I'm not a fan of Jagwire... I don't stock them but happy to buy in and fit for customers if that is what they really really want..... some learn by experience ;-)
I fit Stainless all the time.... nothing else comes close for me...and returning customers for future services/parts and recommendation does that for me.... #justsaying

Well, at least we agree on cheap.
Coarse as opposed to fine? The cables I fit are invariably far smoother and finer than those they're replacing - though admittedly I probably leave that longer than I should.
Gritty? I haven't come across any grit - poor storage perhaps
