I love gps navigation and would not want to be without it. I like cycling to new places and can create an all day route and pop it on the gps in much less than an hour. I use turn by turn navigation but don't just rely on the prompts - keep an eye on the map screen as well.
Can't say I love my Garmin 810 though. I experienced random freezes and switch-offs but (fingers crossed) since a firmware update, factory reset a and good telling off few weeks ago it has been as good as gold. I did tell it it was on its final warning though and believe me, if it plays up again, I'm replacing it with a Wahoo Elemnt.
It seems that many many people have no trouble at all with their Garmins, but the other end of the spectrum is some suffer a world of hurt. I would not recommend a Garmin to a friend!
