@Sixmile, whilst it'd be just as wrong, if you added that additional weight for those rides (create a really heavy bike in strava?) It'd increase the calorie burn.
I think you can "fiddle" the calorie count on the garmin by telling it how many times a week you exercise. I think this puts a coefficient *(Fiddle Factor) into the equation to calculate energy. But work on 400 calories/hour as a base unless you are racing
