The touring can't be paired with heart rate monitor nor cadence sensor, so if you think there is any likelihood you may want those, get an 800 instead

The touring + has cadence
yeah kinda got it to work now, quite buggy tho, like i edited the time on a route i made on the garmin connect site and tried re loading to the 200 but it hasnt changed it from the original time!
also added a map from strava, it shows on the 200 but not on the garmin connect site so i cant edit the time from .4 mph!

You can create a route on garmin connect go to courses in the side menu , that will go to the 200 ok

They were both released for sale nearly the same time. Touring Oct 2013, Plus Nov 2013.
Fair enough, I didn't look that closely I guess. I can't even remember when I got the 800, but with bargain maps from eBay, the 800 with HR and cadence was no more expensive (although I needn't have bothered with the HRM and cadence as they've never been used)
Out of curiosity how much did you pay for the maps on eBay?

Everyone I know with a Garmin 800 uses the OpenStreetMaps for free.
About £25, they were a very good deal. The official Garmin Europe city maps in unopened packaging etc. I'm crap with gadgets and free software, hence I just bought the ones as loading was hassle free. Just stuck in an SD card and done
